2008 Matsutake season

New to the forum and new to vancouver island though i've gone hunting before for the matsutake. it was a bumper season, so they were easy to find and not worth too much money. that's ok. i get the feeling that this year may be another year like that. we've had lots of rain in august and i'm seeing puffballs out already.

I'm not doing this commercially, though if it ends up being lucrative that's ok too. i'm thinking of heading out port alberni way, or maybe out to jordan river.

i'm just wondering if there are any experienced island shroomers who are getting the feeling like i am that it will be early and full, though not big for $$$

i don't want to know where your spot is, i just want to know if you think i'm making any sense. and when YOU think the season's gonna get underway.
